Online Mindfulness Course

Due to the current COVID pandemic, this course has been moved from in-person, to ONLINE. It is likely that this will become a regular option as we move forward. I am excited to be exploring a way to be “together” and grow the community, even while we are physically distanced.

Enjoy the support of a meditation community (sangha) while learning the fundamentals of a Mindfulness Meditation practice with coach/educator, Lauri Glenn. This group setting will offer didactic portions of class as well as time to reflect and discuss within the group, deepening our learning through our own as well as others experience. Led by Mindfulness Coach/Trainer, Lauri Glenn. Evening classes will take place ONLINE via ZOOM and will be held on Mondays from 545-7pm over 6 weeks.
(NOTE: If you know you will miss more than two classes, I ask that you register at a time when you can attend more consistently in support of the group dynamic).
You will receive recordings of guided meditations to support your practice in the weeks between. In addition, there will be two optional support video calls throughout the program. You will receive the schedule for those calls in our first class. This is an opportunity again to enjoy and deepen the support of your fellow meditators, ask questions, clarify, share experience and nurture accountability.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO ATTEND SUCCESSFULLY
- A device with ZOOM to stream the video calls. It will need a camera and microphone (built in mic is fine). You will need good wifi access.
- A space free of interruptions (IE: kids, partners, dogs, dishes, TV etc.) where you can commit your attention to the program and your fellow students. This is important for the integrity of the entire group.
- Daily Commitment. Expect to spend some time each day, outside of our formal meetings, engaged in practice. This will increase over the weeks, starting around 10 mins a day and increasing over time. Be ready to commit an average of 20 mins a day to get the most out of this course.

Sangha (community) is one of the most fundamental components of learning and growth. While each of our particular stories and lives are beautifully unique, we all share the common thread of human experience. The joys and sorrows of life are not just ours alone, they are ours together. Learning and practicing meditation together helps us to see these common threads, to realize we are not alone on this wild ride called Life, and to gain the trust and confidence in others so that we might lean on each other as we traverse this journey.
This small group course will comprise 8 online classes, and two “support” calls (optional) that will span the course of 8 weeks. During the group time together, you will learn the fundamentals of Mindfulness meditation including a touch of history, it’s benefits, the neuroscience and studies supporting the practice and how to implement it in your daily life. We will discuss the various misconceptions about meditation and how understanding the nature and purpose of Mindfulness Meditation can help you to realize you cannot fail.
In a step-wise fashion, where each successive week builds upon the previous, you will learn how to “anchor” your attention mindfully, how to work with sensation in the body including pain, how to identify and work with repeating thought patterns, how to relate to and work skillfully with the mind/thoughts, emotions and difficult situations in your life. These skills translate directly to your every facet of your life…family, work, play, relationship, aspiration, and all experience…so that you may navigate your life with more skill, grace, peace and joy. The time on your “cushion” (meditating) is really the training ground for the rest of your life off the cushion.
You will receive recorded, guided meditations which you can use to support your practice and you will also learn how to guide yourself. Follow-up, support calls with the group will be available two times throughout the course (fully optional) and are designed for you to ask questions, clarify concepts/techniques, share your experience and learn from others experience. The entire program is designed so you can become more comfortable and fully prepared to continue a fruitful and rewarding meditation practice on your own after the program is complete.

Cancellation Policy:
$25 of your fee is NON-Refundable upon registration. If you cancel 30 days or more before start date, you will receive a full refund (minus deposit). 15-29 days, you will receive 50%. Less than 15 days, no refund will be issued. Fees are Non-transferable.
