Mindfulness Meditation Instruction
“Meditation is old and honorable, so why should I not sit quietly, every morning of my life, on the hillside looking into the shining world? Because, properly attended to, delight as well as havoc, is only a suggestion, only a beginning.” ~ Mary Oliver, Poet

We live in a wild world and life can be equally wild at times. Our high-speed, technology-based, 24 hour a day cultural lifestyles can leave us feeling overwhelmed, depleted and alone at times – even if we live in the beautiful Evergreen, Colorado mountains. Our constant connection to information and activity, combined with all the regular demands of a job, a family, a social life and our personal life, often comes at the cost of a loss of connection. A loss of connection to the rhythm of nature, to each other, to ourselves and to the very moments that make up the very fabric of our life. The good news is, this very dynamic and wild life provides exactly what we need to cultivate the life-affirming qualities of compassion, kindness, curiosity, and deep presence.
My name is Lauri Glenn, and I’m a meditation teacher who resides in Colorado, just west of Denver.
What I truly love about Mindfulness Meditation as taught from the Buddhist Vipassana tradition, is it’s availability and simplicity. You don’t need to subscribe to any religion or particular belief system. You don’t need fancy clothes or a special location. You don’t need a degree to understand the practice and realize it’s benefits.
All you need is your life. Exactly as it is.
With some guidance and meditation instruction from a skilled teacher, a desire to live more fully, and a commitment to a regular practice, you can begin to tap into the power of meditation not to necessarily change the contents of your life, but to transform your relationship to them. To one of more ease, patience, understanding, and kindness.
With a regular meditation practice, the “ten thousand joys and sorrows” of what it means to be human, become less of a problem or struggle and become more an opportunity to experience and appreciate the beautiful and “perfectly imperfect” moments of our life. Our difficulties become easier to navigate as we learn to develop things like focus and friendliness, compassion and curiosity, patience and presence.
The only time we have is NOW. So, why not start a meditation practice today.
